Austin High School will soon be kicking off another holiday season with their annual Five Days of Giving event. Five Days of Giving is a collaboration between our student leadership groups of Student Council, National Honor Society and Youth Leadership. This fundraising event will be held the week of Dec. 7 and will include many fun activities for our students and staff to get into the holiday spirit as well as give back to our community. All money raised and toys collected will be donated to the Salvation Army Angel Tree project, which supports families in our community who are in need of some assistance in providing gifts for their children for Christmas.
One of our signature happenings of the Five Days of Giving is the annual Mr. Austin pageant taking place Monday, Dec. 7. The evening will showcase the talent, grace, physical ability and intellectual capabilities of our senior boys in categories such as work-out wear, talent, dress-up wear and knowledge bowl. The boys will be judged by several of our Youth Leadership officers as well as a special judge. After all scores have been tallied, Mr. Austin 2015 will be crowned. This is an entertaining evening for our school and community with all proceeds going to the Angel Tree. The show starts at 7 p.m. in Austin High School’s Christgau Hall. Admission is $5 for students and $7 for adults, and no courtesy passes will be accepted for this fundraiser. We hope you will join us.
