Friday could bring the season’s first measurable snowfall to Austin.

After a blustery day Thursday, The National Weather Service says Austin could see at least 1 to 3 inches of snow on Friday — up to an inch during the day followed by 1 to 3 on Friday night.

Austin should also expect cooler weather after the recent moderate temperatures.

Austin’s high was expected to each about 38 today, when a wind advisory was in effect until 6 p.m. with 22 to 30 mph winds and 50 mph gusts.

Friday’s high will be near 34 with a low of 21. Along with Friday’s snow, the weekend will bring a taste of winter temperatures. Saturday will see a high around 27 with a low near 12. Sunday’s high will be around 28 with a low near 20.

Next week will warm up a bit with highs in the low 40s early in the week before warming to 48 on Thanksgiving Day, when there’s a 60 percent chance of rain.

Austin’s annual Christmas in the City could see a bit of snow on Friday, Nov. 27, when a high of 33 is expected with a chance of snow.
