CHASKA — A Jordan man is charged with shooting and wounding his father and ex-girlfriend in Chaska last week.
Thirty-eight-year-old Joshua Gilpin appeared Tuesday in Carver County court on charges of attempted murder and assault. Bail was set at $200,000, and the judge said Gilpin must wear a GPS tracking device if he makes bail.
According to the charges, Gilpin shot 29-year-old Heidi Robling in the neck and 60-year-old Robert Gilpin in the chest when he went to Robling’s house Thursday night to drop off their 4-year-old son. Both victims are expected to recover.
The charges say before the shooting, Gilpin had threatened to kill Robling’s new boyfriend. Gilpin was arrested 14 hours later at his parents’ home in Jordan.
The Star Tribune reports Gilpin is due back in court Friday.
