Lorene P. Williamson, 89, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, died peacefully on Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, surrounded by her loving family at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna.

Lorene Pearl Madson was born March 9, 1926, in Westfield Township, Dodge County, Minnesota, to Peter and Laura (Nelson) Madson. She grew up in Westfield Township, where she attended grade school, and then Blooming Prairie High School. On June 13, 1944, Lorene and Orville Williamson were united in marriage in Blooming Prairie. The couple raised three children. Lorene worked at Hormel Foods Corporation and as a cook at a restaurant and at the high school until the birth of their first son, and then stayed at home to raise her family. After Orville retired, the couple started going to flea markets. Lorene’s main hobby was refinishing furniture. She took great pride in her work, and it brought her much joy.

Lorene is survived by her sons: Gary Williamson of Stewartville, Minnesota, Wayne (Connie) Williamson and Dean (Barbara) Williamson, both of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota; nine grandchildren: Scott, Sarah, Jason, Jody, Tim, Renee, Laura, Kallie and Jack; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law: Sylvia Swenson of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, and Syrlene Williamson of Austin, Minnesota; many nieces, nephews; cousins other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Laura Madson; her husband Orville Williamson in 1999; daughter Pam Heil and son-in-law David Heil; four sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, with Pastor Charles Leonard officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in First Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to Westfield Church, Homestead Hospice or recipient of donor’s choice. Services prearranged and performed by Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
