A Grand return; Superlarks secure 4th straight trip to state; team eyes 3rd title

The Grand Meadow football team is back in familiar territory: the state tournament.
The Superlarks beat Spring Grove 35-7 Saturday to advance to state for the fourth straight year. The Larks are also seeking to win the team’s third straight state title.
GM running back Christophor Bain ran for 127 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries, and he also had three catches for 66 yards and a touchdown.
Quarterback Michael Stejskal ran for 85 yards on 17 carries and two touchdowns, while throwing for 104 yards and a TD.
The Larks have won 33 games in a row and their senior class has a record of 50-3. They will open the class nine man state quarterfinals when they play Cleveland in New Prague 1 p.m. Saturday.
