Packer volleyball team takes it to the limit in 5-game loss

The Austin volleyball team pushed it to the brink against one of the best teams its played all year, but it bowed out to Northfield in five games that were all decided by just two points in Packer Gym Tuesday.
Northfield (9-6 overall, 6-1 Big Nine) took the match by scores of 25-23, 23-25, 23-25, 25-23, 16-14.

Senior Kelsey Sederquest had 46 digs for the Packers (4-13 overall, 0-6 Big Nine) and senior Ashley Hawkshead had 21 kills.
“It was within reach. We played so well and we did a lot of good things,” Austin head coach Cindy Owen said. “It should be a real confidence booster. They were able to play with one of the top teams in the conference and they played well. They had them on the ropes.”
Austin trailed the fifth game 3-0 to start and it rallied back to take a 6-5 lead. It was a back-and-forth contest from that point on.
