ST. PAUL — Major League Soccer’s consideration of an expansion team for the Twin Cities still includes both Minneapolis and St. Paul.
MLS President and Deputy Commissioner Mark Abbott said at a news conference Tuesday there’s no timetable for St. Paul to act on a proposed stadium site at Snelling and University avenues near Interstate 94.
Abbott also said the league has had no further talk with Minneapolis officials since a previously stated July 1 deadline for securing a venue passed without commitment. But Abbott said that MLS has not ruled out Minneapolis.
