2 die, 1 arrested after crash in Sauk Rapids

SAUK RAPIDS — Police say two people have died and a man has been arrested after a two-vehicle crash in central Minnesota.
Sauk Rapids police say the crash happened around 11:20 p.m. Saturday. According to police, an initial investigation found a vehicle driven by a 22-year-old man from St. Cloud struck the side of another moving vehicle in Sauk Rapids.
The driver and a front-seat passenger in the other vehicle were killed. Another passenger was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening by police.
The 22-year-old St. Cloud man was transported to the hospital and then arrested and taken to jail. Police say alcohol appeared to play a role in the crash.
The names of those killed in the crash were not released, pending family notification.
