Southern Minnesota Land Use Expo is Tuesday

BLOOMING PRAIRIE — The Steele County Farm Bureau and Farmers Union will host a Southern Minnesota Land Use Expo on Tuesday at a farm near Blooming Prairie.
The expo will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rodney Krell farm on U.S. Highway 218, two miles north of Blooming Prairie.
There will be field demonstrations at 10:30 a.m. on various types of liquid and solid manure application equipment as well as various types of conservation equipment.
At noon, livestock commodity groups will provide lunch.
There will be a legislative listening session on agriculture and water at 1 p.m.
The session will feature Minnesota Agriculture Commissioner Dave Fredrickson, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Assistant Commissioner Rebecca Flood, Minnesota state senators Dan Sparks, DFL-Austin, and Matt Schmit, DFL-Red Wing, as well as Minnesota state representatives Denny McNamara, R-Hastings, and Rod Hamilton, R-Mountain Lake.
