Marvin Lewis Vasey, 68, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, July 11, 2015, at Traditions ll in Owatonna, Minnesota.

Marvin was born on July 9, 1947, to Bert and Jessie (Cowan) Vasey in Austin, Minnesota. Marvin grew up in the Dexter and Austin area and graduated from Elkton High School in 1965. He attended the Austin Vocational College for two years and earned a degree as a machinist. Marvin married Linda Nicholson on Nov. 23, 1974, in Owatonna, Minnesota, and divorced in 1994. He enjoyed going to flea markets, fishing and spending time with his friends and family. Marvin was a past member of the Eagles and has resided in Blooming Prairie the last 40 years.

Survivors include his children: Charles (Nancy) Nicholson of Rochester, Minnesota, Theodore Nicholson of Owatonna, Minnesota, Anna (Samuel Bond) Nicholson of Owatonna, Minnesota, Amy (Gabriel Homeier) Vasey of Albert Lea, Minnesota, and April (Andrew) Schuur of Owatonna, Minnesota; seven grandchildren: Christine, Charles, Amanda, David, Jesse, Andrew and Grant; two great-grandchildren: Heaven and Dakota; and special friends Ramona Malecha and family; many nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Norman; a sister, Marylou; and a nephew, Patrick.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.
