Letter: Project Graduation was a success

Project Graduation 2015, “Where The Present Ends … The Future Begins,” was held on Friday, June 5, 2015, at Austin High School following the AHS graduation ceremony.
This event has been held every year since 1989 to celebrate the end of high school for all of Austin’s graduating seniors. Planning begins in January and concludes with a fun-filled night of games, food, entertainment, prizes and gifts for the students. This year approximately 180 students participated in the event.
We are extremely thankful for the continued support of the community for this event. Businesses, service organizations and community members donated food, money, prizes and their services to help with this event. Without their support this event would not be possible.
Thank you to all of the donors, the 125 adult volunteers who planned and staffed the event, the security volunteers, Katie Baskin and the Austin Public School administration, and Pete Nelson and the AHS custodial staff. Project Graduation was a success because of all of them!
The students who attended were very appreciative of all the work that went into planning this event. Based on the feedback from the seniors, the entire night was a huge success.
We thank all of you for your generous support and we congratulate the class of 2015!
Dawn Kempen and Jane Oberbroeckling,
