Austin’s Hardees is expected to open sometime in August, and hiring will begin soon.

Construction is ticking along on the property near Interstate 90 at 1406 Fourth St. NW., and Northland Restaurant Group Marketing Manager Dan Cole said the company is eying a mid- to late August opening, barring any unforeseen delays.

“We’ve got a big team of people working on it, and [we] try to minimize that stuff as much possible,” he said.

The hiring process for the estimated 70 employees will start soon. A round of interviews is slated to be held at Austin WorkForce Center, 1600 Eighth Ave. NW, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 18. People are invited to stop out for an application.

“We’re hiring 70 people, so there’s a lot of opportunity to at least get your foot in the door,” Cole said.

Northland Restaurant Group, based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, operates 112 Hardees in the upper Midwest, including restaurants in Albert Lea and Fergus Falls, which opened last year. Cole said the Hardees brand is strong right now, and Northland is looking to expand its market.

“Overall, we see some good opportunity in the Minneapolis/Minnesota market,” he said.
