The new Spam Museum is beginning to take shape in downtown Austin.
After construction started in April, the framing of the building is now going up at the site between Second and Fourth Avenues on the east side of North Main Street.

Hormel announced plans last May to close its old museum at 1101 N. Main St. and build the new the 14,000-square-foot museum downtown.
The old museum closed last fall, and Hormel representatives say the museum construction is on schedule for an opening in late spring of 2016.
