Dr. William Perendy, DPM, 90

Former Kasota resident, Dr. William Perendy, DPM, 90, died Monday, June 15, 2015, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
Dr. Perendy was born March 8, 1925, in Chicago, Illinois, to Frank and Katherine Perendy. He graduated from Lane Technical All Boys High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the south west Pacific Theater. He served directly under Admiral Kelly Turner and was in the Naval Special Forces specializing in communications and code training on LST and PT ships. He graduated from Illinois College of Podiatry and practiced at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, then had his own practice in Mankato from 1952 until 1996. He married Maxine Prokopec on Oct. 12, 1974. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a very talented wood worker.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine; sons: Dr. Tom Perendy, John Perendy (Beth Ann), Frank Perendy (Nickie), Peter Perendy; daughter, Amanda Nesheim all of Grand Rapids, Minnesota; step daughters: Ann Arnett of Eagle Lake, Debra Luebke (Melvin) of Mankato; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother, Frank Perendy of Crystal, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Julie; daughter, Peggy; sister, Josephine; sons-in-law: John Nesheim and Charles Arnett.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on nFriday, June 19, 2015, at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato with visitation one hour prior. Private family burial will take place at a later date in Northern Minnesota. Memorials are preferred to Disabled Veterans. Woodland Hills Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
