One person was airlifted to Mayo Clinic Hospital St. Mary’s Campus and Highway 56 was closed briefly in LeRoy this morning after a two-car crash just east of LeRoy-Ostrander Schools.

Daniel Bartel, 60, of LeRoy, was taken to St. Mary’s with non-life threatening injures after his 1998 Lincoln Mark Coupe rear ended a 1994 Chevrolet Lumina driven by Andrew Ulland, 30, of Austin around 8:43 a.m. Saturday on northbound Highway 56, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report.

Ulland’s Lumina was reportedly stopped in the right shoulder. Ulland was not injured.

The Lincoln was towed to Midtown Towing with moderate damage. The Lumina sustained minor damage.
