Four area golfers qualify for Class A state meet

The Hayfield boys golf team finished second overall and it qualified two golfers for the Class A state meet at the Section 1A meet in Willow Creek Golf Course in Rochester Tuesday.
The Vikings shot a 331 as a team and Fillmore Central won the meet with a 323.
Brady Becker, a senior, earned his third trip to state for Hayfield and junior Aaron Anderson earned his first trip to state. Becker shot a 73 on Tuesday to give him a two-day score of 151 that was good enough for second place in Section 1A. FC’s Jordan Miller won the meet with a score of 144.
Anderson shot a 78 on Tuesday for a two-day score of 78.
GMLO’s Tyler Sloan earned his first trip to state when he shot an 81 to give him a two-day score of 164.
Sloan edged out Blooming Prairie’s Tommy Braaten by one stroke for the final individual spot at state.
In the girls meet, BP sophomore Taylor Christianson won the Section 1A meet by shooting an 84 on Tuesday and finishing with a two-day score of 173.
