Fast start doesn’t help Packer softball team in loss to JM

The Austin softball team opened strong, but that wasn’t enough as it lost 15-5 in five innings at Rochester John Marshall (2-0 overall, 2-0 Big Nine) Tuesday.
The Packers (1-3 overall, 1-2 Big Nine) scored four runs in the top of the first inning, but the Rockets responded with 10 runs in the bottom of the first.
“We started off well and we did everything we were supposed to do. Our pitching just collapsed,” Austin head coach Al Eckmann said.
