MINNEAPOLIS — Police have recovered a missing 4-year-old Minneapolis boy after a chase ended in Plymouth.
The boy was reported missing before 5 p.m. Tuesday in south Minneapolis. The Star Tribune reports he was allegedly taken from the backyard of his home by an acquaintance of the family.
The Minnesota State Patrol received a 911 call reporting an erratic driver near Highway 62 and Interstate 494, about 10 minutes after being notified about an attempt to locate the missing child. The car’s description matched both calls, and officers spotted the vehicle swerving on the road.
Authorities began chasing the 24-year-old Minneapolis man when he refused to pull over. The driver got stuck in a ditch and was arrested.
The boy was found unharmed in the front seat.
