Wrestler recovering from temporary paralysis

SARTELL — A Sartell teenager is recovering from a spinal cord injury suffered in a high school wrestling match — an injury that left him temporarily paralyzed.
Nathan O’Brien couldn’t move after his wrestling opponent used a routine move called the “fireman’s carry” during a match last month. O’Brien spent five days in the hospital and began to regain his mobility and strength.
The Sartell wrestling community has been supporting to the O’Brien family as Nathan recovers. He attends physical therapy three times a week. His doctors have told him his wrestling days are over.
