Harold Paul Silbaugh, 77, of Lyle, Minnesota, died, Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, at St. Marys Hospital surrounded by his family.
Harold was born on July 6, 1937, in Austin, Minnesota, to Asham and Helen (Helgeson) Silbaugh. On Dec. 27, 1958, he married Adalia (Babe) Beeman in Austin, Minnesota.
Harold started his career as a salesman for Hormel Foods in 1959. In 1970, he moved to Lyle and spent the next 40 years of his life farming, before retiring in 2010. In his spare time, he loved to golf, take walks with his dog, shop at Hy-Vee, stay home and watch movies and spend time with his friends and family. He loved his trips to Mexico every year with his wife Babe. He talked to his children every day. He had a great sense of humor. The happiness of his family was most important to him and he was always interested in everything they were doing. His bright smile, pleasant personality, and clever jocularity will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Asham and Helen Silbaugh; and brother James Silbaugh.
Harold is survived by his wife Adalia (Babe) Silbaugh, Lyle, Minnesota; son and daughter-in-law Robert and DeAnne Silbaugh, Austin, Minnesota; daughter and son-in-law Sandra and Greg Bell, Austin, Minnesota; grandsons: Paul and Sara Silbaugh, Lyle, Minnesota, Jeremy and Jonnelle Bell, Woodbury, Minnesota, Asham Bell, Edina, Minnesota, Jonathon and Lisa Silbaugh, Sparta, Wisconsin, Robert Silbaugh, Jr., St. Paul, Minnesota, Jordan Bell, Minneapolis, Minnesota; great-grandchildren: Mason, Megan, and Meryn Silbaugh, Landon and Taylor Bell, Amber, Jacob, and Haley Oliver; and Stella, his favorite dog.
Private family services were held. We will miss him more than words can say. We love you so much. – Your family.
