The Austin girls basketball team lost 68-38 to Rochester John Marshall in Ove Berven Gym Tuesday.

Arizona State commit Jamie Ruden led the No. 8 ranked Rockets (18-1 overall, 15-0 Big Nine) with 20 points.

Ruth Koang had 10 points for the Packers (8-11 overall, 6-9 Big Nine).

Austin was within 25-17 with 1:15 left in the first half but JM forced a couple of turnovers and went up 32-17 going into the break.

“JM is a very good team, but we’ve got to play better defense than we did tonight in order to win basketball games,” Austin head coach Todd Johnson said.
