MINNEAPOLIS — A 16-year-old boy has become the first student representative to serve on the Minneapolis School Board.
Noah Branch, a sophomore at Patrick Henry High School, was sworn into the position Tuesday. He was selected by students, district leaders and board members after a month long application process.
Although Branch won’t be able to vote, he’ll have the same duties as regular board members. The teen will attend monthly school board meetings and provide a student’s perspective on key issues.
