CENTURIA, Wis. — Polk County sheriff’s officials don’t expect charges will be filed against a homeowner who shot an intruder.
A statement from Sheriff Peter Johnson says a 33-year-old Centuria man was awakened by someone pounding on his door very early on New Year’s Day. The sheriff says the homeowner grabbed his shotgun and shot the intruder.
The Star Tribune says the 25-year-old man was shot in the leg and groin area and is hospitalized at Regions Hospital in St. Paul in stable condition. Public records show both men lived on the same block in Centuria.
