The Austin boys hockey team lost 5-3 at Rochester Mayo (12-5-1 overall, 8-3 Big Nine) Thursday.
Austin’s Daniel Bollingberg had a hat trick and Jacob Johnson had 43 saves.
“Jacob Johnson played really well and he probably had his best game of the year,” Austin head coach Erik LaRock said. “Hopefully that’ll give us a spark.”
The Packers (3-14-1 overall, 0-10-1 Big Nine) pulled to within 4-3 when Bollingberg scored in the third period, but Mayo put the game away with an empty-netter with five seconds left in the game.
Blake Halsey had two assists for Austin, and Dan Larson, Kenny Ree and Brandon Miller had one assist each.
