The Southland girls basketball team played strong defense as it beat Triton (1-4 overall) 58-39 on the road Thursday.
The Rebels (2-2 overall) opened the second half on a 19-4 run and they led by as many as 30 points in the second half.
“We were really sluggish in the first half. We had a few bad fouls and we made some silly mistakes,” Southland head coach Russ Foster said. “In the second half we really got going and we started picking up our game. I thought Olivia Gray had her best game as far as defense and rebounding go.”
