Pauline J. (Hatfield) Hoff, 84, of Austin, Minnesota, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin.
Pauline was born in Lake City, Iowa on Jan. 12, 1930, to Daniel and Hazel (Smith) Hatfield. She attended Whitter grade school and graduated from Austin Central High School. She married Rolland L. Hoff on Aug. 14, 1948, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She worked at Hormel for a few years and then became a happy homemaker. Pauline was a cub scout troop leader for her sons in Pack 10. Summers were spent at French Lake in Faribault, Minnesota, and after the cabin was sold, Rolland had an in-ground pool put in their backyard where many more happy memories were made and Pauline was named captain of the pool. In her spare time, Pauline loved to paint, read and watch TV.
She raised her family in the Methodist Church and then at Crane Community Chapel. Pauline accepted Jesus as her personal savior when she was 12 years old. She served as a Sunday School teacher and youth church leader.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rolland and siblings Phyllis Hatfield, John Hatfield, Darlene Yauger and Joan List.
Pauline is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Danny and Carolyn Hoff, Austin; daughters and sons-in-law: Paulette and LeWain Lewis, Austin; Darla and Don McKenzie, Rochester, Minnesota; Pam and Duane Germain, Austin, MN; grandchildren: Tonia Hoff, Tiffany Hoff, Jeremy Heimer, Shanon Heimer, Miranda (Ryan) Tucker, Katrina (Ryan) Lins, Sara (Mark) Lohse, Danyel Germain and Donovan Germain; 16 great grandchildren; sister: Betty Farley, Arizona; brothers: Robert Hatfield, Austin; Ronnie Hatfield, Austin; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 15, at Crane Community Chapel with the Rev. Dale Christiansen officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
