Michael Allen Bartlett, 56

Michael Allen Bartlett, 56, of Lansing, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Saint Marys Campus.
He was born Sept. 15, 1958, to Allen and Dorothy (Miller) Bartlett in Austin, Minnesota, where he grew up. After graduating from high school in 1977, Mike went to work for Wally Bustad and Marlys Clark in their excavating business and did other odd jobs. He married Shawn Faye Alm on Oct. 10, 1981, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Austin. Over the years, Mike continued working toward his degree at Riverland Community College. He worked for Hormel Foods Corp. for almost 30 years, the past several years in mechanical engineering. A lifetime member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Mike was an avid softball player. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing golf, mowing his lawn and following NASCAR. He treasured time spent with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Shawn of Lansing, Minnesota; two sons: Timothy Bartlett, and Robert (Sarah) Bartlett, both of Austin, Minnesota; three grandchildren: Emerei, Easton and Elliott; six siblings: Bill (Laurie) Bartlett of Big Lake, Nyla (Steve) Adair of Phoenix, Arizona, Connie Robinson of Monticello, Minnesota, Scott (Amy) Bartlett of Pequot Lakes, Minnesota, Jody Bartlett (Ray Klindworth) of Becker, Minnesota, Tony (Chris) Bartlett of Ham Lake, Minnesota; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and twin siblings, Barbara and Bruce, in infancy.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Austin with the Rev. Glenn Monson officiating. Memorial visitation will be at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment is at Rose Creek Enterprise Cemetery, rural Austin.
