Mary Denyse Underhill Hompe, 81, of Santa Barbara, California, formerly of Austin, Minnesota, died suddenly Dec. 5, 2015.

“Denyse” was born Nov. 28, 1933. She was very active in the Austin community, including the Austin Library Board, the American Legion Post 91, and the First Congregational Church of Austin.
Denyse is survived by brother George Underhill; children: Valerie (Glenn) Alger, Wesley (Rebecca) Hompe, Lila (Jeff) Skelton, Samuel (Danette) Hompe, Byron (Sarasi) Underhill; and eight grandchildren.
Her memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Dec. 16, at the First Congregational Church in Austin, Minnesota, and her remains will be interred at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery near her husband, Kay Wesley Hompe, on Dec. 17.
