The Hayfield girls basketball team lost 63-41 at Plainview-Elgin-Millville (1-0 overall) Wednesday.

After trailing by 22 early in the second half Vikings (2-1 overall) used a lineup that included four freshman to get within 14, but they weren’t able to stay close.

“Plainview’s got a nice balanced squad and they’ll be a tough team to beat,” Hayfield head coach Fred Kindschy said. “We didn’t come out and play like we needed to.”

Hayfield have six freshmen score in the loss.
