DRESBACH — Search and rescue crews are looking in the Mississippi River for a missing boater near Lock and Dam 7 in Dresbach in southeastern Minnesota.

Winona County Sheriff Dave Brand says they’re looking for a 27-year-old from Onalaska, Wisconsin.

Brand says the man went fishing around 11 p.m. Saturday. The victim’s family told the sheriff he liked to go out fishing late at night.

The sheriff says it appears the boat hit a gate on the dam and sank. The boat was found Sunday about three-fourths of a mile downstream.
