Robbers armed with a handgun attempted to steal from Apollo Superette at the 900 block of West Oakland Avenue on Saturday night.

Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger said no one was injured as the clerk on duty ran from the store and called the robbery in at about 10:35 p.m. Saturday. Apollo officials have yet to report what, if anything, was taken from the store.

The 49-year-old clerk told police two people dressed in black “blew through” the front door as he was sweeping and pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at him. Though the robbers told him to freeze, the clerk ran through the back of the store and went to the McDonald’s to call police. Krueger said the suspects allegedly chased after him for a time.

Surveillance footage shows three suspects, all dressed in black. The first suspect is described as white man with a medium build, wearing black gloves, pants, a hoodie with the hood up, as well as a possible scarf covering most of his face.

The second suspect is a 6-foot tall male of unknown race with a slender build, also wearing black pants, gloves, hoodie and black shoes with a white ring around the sole.

The third suspect is a white female, about 5-feet 10-inches of slender build, who wore a black coat, dark pants, and black gloves and shoes.

Police searched the store but didn’t find any suspects. Surveillance footage didn’t show any customers inside during the attempted robbery, according to Krueger.
