Richard Joseph Herzog, 83, of Champlin, Minnesota, peacefully passed away in the loving arms of his wife and children on Oct. 18, 2014.

Richard was born and raised in Austin, Minnesota, where he married, worked at Hormel Foods, and raised his family.

He was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Anna Herzog; siblings: Robert Herzog (Dorothy), Donald Herzog (Donna), Mary Hope (Phil), and Tom Anderson.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; and their children: Theresa Winter (Donald), Marie Benveniste (Larry), Joe Herzog, Jim Herzog (Doreen), Amy Guenther (Bret), Kathy Olson (Jim), Ruth Kewitsch (Wayne); grandchildren: Lauren (Kent), Drew (Whitney), Sarah (Dan), Anna (Adam), Nathan, Ellen, Jake, Caroline, Maddy, Jack, Molly, Ellie and Rob; step-grandchildren: Jeff (Noell), Maddie and Morgan; great-grandchildren: Isabelle, Griffin and Holly; sister JoAnn Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.

Dick’s life will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, with a Mass at St. Stephens Catholic Church, 525 Jackson St., Anoka, MN, 55303, followed by a luncheon. There will be a gathering at 10 a.m., prior to the service. Private internment will be held at a later date. Thank you to all the amazing caregivers at J.A. Wedum Hospice, where Dick lived his remaining days surrounded by his wife, children and family. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to J.A.
