The Lyle-Pacelli volleyball team picked up an important conference win when it swept Schaeffer Academy 25-20, 25-23, 27-25 in Rochester Thursday.
The Athletics had lost to Schaeffer (8-9 overall, 5-6 SEC) in five games earlier this season.
“It was a really good match, Lucy Nelson had crucial kills in game one and Madison Truckenmiller had some big blocks in game two,” LP head coach Lindsay Leif said. “Sarah Holtz had a good night all night.”
Hotlz finished with 21 kills and 17 digs for the Athletics (11-9 overall, 8-3 SEC). Leif said she took a new approach on Thursday and she let her team play through the ups and downs.
“I’m trying this new strategy where I don’t call timeouts and they were able to keep our momentum,” she said. “It was a total, collective team effort.”
