The Southland football team picked up a 22-14 win over Fillmore Central (0-5 overall, 0-5 SFA Blue) in Adams Friday.
The Rebels (2-2 overall, 2-2 SFA Blue) sealed the win when they converted a third and four at the end of the game.
“It was a great team win and we needed it,” Southland head coach Shawn Kennedy said.
Southland linebacker Jackson Koenigs returned from injury in the win, but Southland quarterback James Landherr left the game with an injury and is likely out for the season.
“We were all surprised that he came back and he played awesome. Having Jackson back is a psychological lift,” Kennedy said. “Losing James hurts us.”
Lucas Mandt scored TD on a screen pass for Southland and Dominiq Bouska hit a pair of field goals.
