Group calls for residents to eat at 30 restaurants in 6 months
The Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau wants local residents to be tourists — in Austin.
The CVB kicked off the Be a Tourist in Your Hometown Challenge Tuesday, which calls for area residents to visit more than 30 of the city’s 60-plus dining venues in six months. Those who visit 30 will be eligible to win $100 in chamber bucks. Receipts are required.
Challenge rules:
• Anyone is able to participate.
• Participants must visit 30 different dining facilities between July 1 and Dec. 31. Amount purchased does not matter, however a receipt dated from July-December 2014 is required from each dining location.
• The 30 receipts can be submitted to the Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau anytime, but the last opportunity to submit receipts will be Friday, Jan. 16, 2015.
• The first person to complete the challenge will win $100 in chamber bucks. All other submissions will be entered into a random drawing for a chance to win $100 in chamber bucks. Two submissions will be drawn. The drawing will be Monday, Jan. 19, 2015.
