MINNEAPOLIS — The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office is petitioning to try a juvenile as an adult in a shooting death following a confrontation on a Metro Transit bus.

Authorities charged a 16-year-old boy with second-degree murder Tuesday in the death of 38-year-old Andrew Billingsley Jr. The Minneapolis man died of multiple gunshot wounds July 24.

Investigators say Billingsley had confronted the teen and his friends on the bus about harassing his son. The driver tells investigators the teen pulled a gun from his waistband and told Billingsley to get off the bus.
