Two Austin high school seniors receive Gerard scholarship

Two Austin high school seniors received funding toward their education.

Gerard Academy, a provider of psychological, psychiatric and behavioral needs of children and adolescents, has awarded two $500 scholarships for local high school students. This is the sixth year that Gerard has awarded the scholarships. Austin High School Seniors Autumn Laury and Olive McDermott are this year’s recipients.

Laury, who was member of the high school diving team, plans on attending Minnesota State Mankato where she will major in Spanish.

McDermott will attend Saint Catherine’s University where she plans to major in physical therapy.

Both scholarship winners have reflected Gerard’s Cornerstone values of honesty, responsibility, courage, care and concern in their lives.
