Ralph Allen Howard, 74, of Austin, Minn., died Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Ralph was born in Rock Rapids, Iowa, on April 9, 1940, to Charles and Frances (Anderson) Howard. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He worked at Hormel foods as a mechanic up to his retirement. His presence here in this life will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Ralph leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Sandy; and three children, Todd (Paula) Howard, Hutchinson, Minn., Lori (Eddie) Miller, Austin, Minn., Tricia (Curtis) Lund, Austin, Minn.; seven grandchildren, Sabrina (Pete) Duda, Beau (Jessica) Howard, Kari, Jaci and David (Megan) Miller, Noah and Cassandra Lund; two great-grandchildren, Summer and Aubry Rose; three brothers, Dick (Judy) Howard, Texas, Ronald (Kathy) Howard, Austin, Minn., and Robert Howard, Montevideo, Minn.; and many nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with the Rev. Dave Simerson Officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary and for one hour before the service on Saturday.
