The John Deere Company will hold plot visits to test its new planter at SEMA Equipment in Austin from 1 to 4 p.m. June 18 and 19.
John Deere unveiled a new planter in early 2014 with the claim the planter would provide seed singulation at 10 mph. Prototypes of the new ExactEmerge 1775 were distributed to select John Deere dealers throughout North America for use during the 2014 planting season. SEMA Equipment, an eight-location dealership covering southeast Minnesota, was one of the dealers chosen to receive a new ExactEmerge unit.
The Austin plot visit will take place at 23864 555th Ave., Austin, MN 55912.
Refreshments will be served and the plots will be labeled with planting speeds. Test plots are open to the public for viewing throughout the summer months. When visiting the plots outside of the indicated dates and times listed above, SEMA asks residents to be respectful of the land owner and leave the plots in good condition.
