ELY — Search and rescue crews have located the eight members of a canoe party missing in the Boundary Waters near Ely.

Authorities say the three adults and five children were treated at Ely-Bloomenson Community Hospital Thursday night. Lake County Rescue Squad’s Justin Mayne said the eight appeared to be in good condition, although some were being monitored for hypothermia.

The eight were in two separate canoes that capsized on Basswood Lake. They were reported missing about 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
