Luella May Schieck, 91, passed away on Saturday afternoon, May 31, 2014, at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield.

Luella was born on June 13, 1922, the daughter of Ole and Alvina (Evenson) Johnson in Dodge County, Minn. She attended the Thoe Country School through eighth grade. Luella was united in marriage to Lorenz Schieck on December 6, 1941, in Hayfield. She worked at various jobs in the Food Industry and was a nanny and care giver. She enjoyed flowers, cooking, baking, gardening, traveling and camping. Luella was very proud of her Norwegian Heritage. She was a very special mother, grandmother and friend.

Luella is survived by her children, Marcia Christensen, Rochester, Minn., Michael (Lorinda) Schieck, Rochester, Minn., Rita (George) Heydt, Hayfield, Minn., Sally (Randy) Pettitt, North St. Paul, Minn., and Dwight Schieck, Hayfield, Minn.; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth (Beau) Senjem.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers; and one sister.

The funeral service for Luella May Schieck will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 1st Street SE, in Hayfield, Minn., with the Rev. Paul Hauschild officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June, 3, 2014, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 2nd Street NW, in Hayfield, Minn., and one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery in Austin, Minn.
