The city of Austin is accepting bids to design a new website.

City officials have posted a request for proposal to have web developers create a new city website and train staff to use it.

The Austin City Council approved the request at its June 2 meeting. The new website is one of the city’s goals this year and is part of a broader effort to improve communication with residents. Council members hope developers can create a new, updated website that residents can use to get more information about the city, from departmental homepages to easy-answer links.
