A former area priest is about to celebrate four decades on the job.

Fr. William Kulas is celebrating his 40th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood on Sunday, May 18, at Holy Trinity Church in Rollingstone, Minn., with a Mass of Thanksgiving at 10:30 a.m. and a reception to follow in the Holy Trinity Community Center. All are invited.

Bishop Loras Waters ordained Fr. Kulas on May 24, 1974, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Winona.

He served as a former associate pastor at Austin’s St. Augustine’s Church and instructor at Pacelli HIgh School from 1974-1976, and he was pastor of St. Columbanus Church in Blooming Prairie from 2008-2012.

He served in other positions in the diocese of Winona as well.
