City and rural letter carriers in Austin and Mower County thank all who generously gave to our recent food drive. We collected more than 9,000 pounds of much-needed food for our local food shelves.

Thanks to Janet Anderson and KAAL TV, John Wright and KAUS AM/FM and the Austin Daily Herald for helping get the word out. Our gratitute goes to the volunteers from the Austin High School National Honor Society and Sharon Alms and the Jaycees. We appreciate city churches for your assistance.

We will be at it again next year the second Saturday in May to help provide food for those in our area who need it.
