The Riverland Community College softball team had its season come to an end after it finished in second place in the Region 13A tournament in Rochester Saturday.

The Blue Devils beat Bottineau 5-2 to keep their season alive, but they lost an elimination game to Rochester Community and Technical College 7-6 in 10 innings Saturday. On Friday, RCC lost 6-5 to RCTC and it beat St. Cloud 9-7,

“After winning just five games last year, we were two wins away from the national tournament,” RCC head coach Al Eckmann said. “It was a great season for us. It speaks well for our kids.”
