Mower County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating two storage units that were broken into north of Austin.

Chief Deputy Mark May said the owner of the storage units at the 24000 block of Highway 218 reported two units were broken into on Tuesday afternoon. May said there were pry marks, scratches and cut marks on the storage unit doors, with alleged attempts to break into more units.

Renters of the storage units have been informed and have yet to report anything missing. The owner is looking at installing a security fence around the units. May said the cost of the damage to the units isn’t yet known.
