Warren worked at his father’s gas station, the Northern Pacific Railroad, and then Eddy Paper Company, which later became Weyerhaeuser Container Corp. In 1961, he transferred to Cloquet, Minn., to open a new Weyerhaeuser plant, and in 1980 was transferred to the White Bear Lake plant. They lived in Stillwater, Minn., from 1980 until Warren retired from Weyerhaeuser in 1986. They then moved to Carlton, Minn., but spent winters in California and Arizona from 1986 to 2000. They lost their home of 27 years in the flood of 2012 and then moved into the Pineview Apartments in Carlton.

Warren loved game shows, games of chance, cars, motorcycling, bicycling, CB radio, exploring back roads, and visiting his children and grandchildren. The couple enjoyed many vacations in the U.S., sometimes on motorcycle, and also made trips to Hawaii and Japan.
