Robert Clyde Wentzel, 75, of Austin, Minn., died Monday, April 7, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Hospital-Rochester, Saint Marys Campus. He was born Sept. 1, 1938, in Austin to James and Maude (Sweazey) Wentzel. Robert grew up and lived in Austin, most recently at the Twin Towers and Whispering Pines Ranch. His favorite pastimes were writing poetry, following the stock market, walking, and visiting with people.
Survivors include his sisters, Dixie Wytaske of Lansing, Minn.; Nettie Greenman of Rock Island, Ill.; brothers, James Wentzel of Bishop, Ga.; Guy (Debbie) Wentzel of Duluth, Minn.; nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents James and Maude Wentzel, sisters Gloria Wentzel, Jessie McGonigle, Dorothy Theuer, Viva McGonigle; brothers Dave ‘Bud’ Wentzel and Paul Wentzel.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Grandview Cemetery in Austin, with Mr. Leonard Blake officiating. Interment will follow.
