Marlene ‘Molly’ Jensen, 75, of Austin, Minn., died Monday, March 31, 2014, at Seasons Hospice in Rochester, Minn. Marlene Viva Bawek was born July 6, 1938, in Rose Creek, Minn., to Gilbert and Viva (Haney) Bawek. She graduated from Pacelli High School in 1956. On July 12, 1958, she was united in marriage to Donald Jensen at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin. Molly worked as a floral designer for Johnson Floral, and then at the Austin Medical Center for 18 years as a medical receptionist. Molly and Don raised three daughters. Don passed away on Feb. 28, 1994. Molly loved flowers, gardening, reading books, and traveling. She also enjoyed attending the Austin Artist Series programs and symphonies. Molly will be remembered as the greatest grandmother ever. She spent so many wonderful times with her daughters and granddaughters.
Survivors include her daughters, Carri Morse of Rosemount, Minn.; Cathy (Christopher) Cahak of Mosinee, Wis.; and Shawn Sollie of Edina, Minn.; four grandchildren Stephanie and Samantha Sollie, Courtney and Caitlin Morse; her mother, Viva Bawek of Austin; sister, Lavonne (Don) Dokken of Austin; brother, Darwin (Maureen) Bawek, also of Austin; Don’s siblings Bonny, Alfred ‘Jens’, Margaret, and Charlie. Molly was preceded in death by her father Gilbert Bawek and her sister Beverly Dahlback.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2014, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with Father Mark Underdahl officiating. The Jensen family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at Worlein Funeral Home. Interment will be at a later date.
