BP native’s band returning to area

The 2014 Paramount Movie Series brought to you by Knutson Construction continues with Cecil B. DeMille’s Ten Commandments at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 17. Starring Charlton Heston and Yul Brynner, the epic story follows Moses from the time when he was an infant set adrift on the Nile in a reed basket to when he discovers his true heritage and returns to Egypt to free the Hebrews from slavery.

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the Historic Paramount Theatre Box Office. Then at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, The Whitesidewalls return with “Love Potion No. 10” The Musical. This story takes place at a small town high school in 1964. It follows Michael Patrick “Records” Ryan, a popular local AM radio disc jockey who receives vials of love potion from a mysterious female fan. For four decades, the couple continues their arms-length courtship, which cultivates at a 1964 reunion dance.

Throughout this romantic comedy, the Whitesidewalls Rock ‘n’ Roll revue takes the audience on a trip through the great music of 1954 through 1964. Tickets are $20 in advance, $22 at the door. They can be purchased online at austinareaarts.org or at the Paramount Box Office Tuesday-Friday 12-5 p.m.
